February 1st
When I thought I was back to running I had one thing blocking my path; I went to my Endocrinologist and had my scheduled check up on my Thyroid. For the last few years I've felt with Graves Disease; or Hyperthyroidism.
My levels were again, very high, and my heart rate elevated. He suggested that I stop all physical activity, double my thyroid medicine and add on a heart pill, to lower my heart rate. I was devastated to say the least. I felt like I had just been given the golden ticket after surgery, then this.
So, I started up on the new meds, and had to track my heart rate and blood pressure every day. My blood pressure is naturally on the low end and had to make sure it didn't get any lower... So in the meantime we stayed busy doing other things..
And we celebrated Christmas!
Then we rang in the new year!
My sweet little Reiker also had a birthday! I cannot believe my little man is now 5 years old! He had a fun day going to breakfast, going shooting and having a big party at the bowling alley!
My dad flew into town and helped us ring in the new year and celebrate Reiker's birthday a little early since he wouldnt be here during the party...we had way too much fun!
We have had wrestling two nights a week and Saturday mornings since October, and start up again in March. They have had a great time and really learned a lot
We've started 2015 with a bang and look forward to what this year will bring!
Today is the start of RUN RANGER RUN 2015...the reason I started this blog in the first place. To track miles and memories through the 565 mile experience. And a year has passed and here we go again. I cannot wait to get out there and log miles. My brother left yesterday for Georgia, he is in Ranger school as we speak. We are all so proud of him and his decision to join the military and serve our country. Miss that kid so much but proud to be his sister.
Pray for all of our military as they make the ultimate sacrifice. Join our Run Ranger Run team, Morbing For The Milititary, or donate. All proceeds go to GallantFew, they offer services to Rangers who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life. Updates throughout the month on our journey will be posted the next 28 days!!
