Time flies when your having fun!

My sweet sweet boy..

Brock Shawn Wilkins turned 6 years old! It is just crazy! He is an awesome kindergartener who loves school and adores sports.

Opening presents!

We had an amazing time at the fun center, playing laser tag, bounce houses, skating and pirate jungle gym!

Lots of pizza! Cupcakes and balloons!

Even Ava Kate had some fun!

Every year Shawn takes the kids out to breakfast on their birthdays at Cracker Barrel...

Brock had bigger eyes than his tummy;

Then went shooting

School was a special time for him; we brought in cookies and balloons to have delivered to him. His teacher gave him a crown and a special treat...and this:

I love this little guy! So much! So much, that I even left at 6 am that morning to get his birthday donuts to have before school. He is my sweet baby, who came into this world in a rough and scary way. But he is here, healthy and amazing us every day.

My cute little 2 year old in these...now he is 6!! Mind blowing.

They partied till they dropped!

Happy Birthday sweet Brock! We love you so much my big and pray that you grow into a strong young man, who lives the Lord and never stops running towards whatever he wants!

Surgery Surgery, Why Must I Have Surgery

So, after months of wondering and questioning what was wrong with my knee...

...I found out.

According to my Orthopedic Surgeon, pieces of my knee cap broke off as a result of the dash coming back towards me during the car accident.

Insert sad face here....

I was totally upset. It meant no working. I work for a home health care company and lift, transfer and assist patients. It also meant no more running!! And surgery couldn't be until after our Washington trip. It was almost two months after I was given the word of my needed surgery, did I actually get it.

Pre surgery photo op..

And after..

As I'm ready to leave...this was after I got the special medicine I needed to lower my heart rate after surgery...it was 140 after the first dose..yikes..and my vomiting. Shawn says this is my drug face..lol

I've got TED hose on one side and my ice water cast on the other. I literally laid in bed for three days watching Netflix while my family catered to my every need.

It was awesome.

Minus the surgery part, where I felt like complete garbage!

Me watching Netflix!

Three days out.

Now it's been about two weeks and I'm getting there. Stairs, sitting...anything that requires any bend to my knee hurts. I still don't have full ROM, but I'm getting there
Brock wanted to take a picture of me "finally  walking and outside" ..nice.

In case your wondering, Run Ranger Run 2015 is right around the corner and I CANNOT wait.

Lol! Head back laughing out loud. This is exactly how I feel...hopefully I will get the green light on Friday's post op appointment!

If you don't laugh, your a communist.
