...I found out.
According to my Orthopedic Surgeon, pieces of my knee cap broke off as a result of the dash coming back towards me during the car accident.
Insert sad face here....
I was totally upset. It meant no working. I work for a home health care company and lift, transfer and assist patients. It also meant no more running!! And surgery couldn't be until after our Washington trip. It was almost two months after I was given the word of my needed surgery, did I actually get it.
As I'm ready to leave...this was after I got the special medicine I needed to lower my heart rate after surgery...it was 140 after the first dose..yikes..and my vomiting. Shawn says this is my drug face..lol
I've got TED hose on one side and my ice water cast on the other. I literally laid in bed for three days watching Netflix while my family catered to my every need.
It was awesome.
Minus the surgery part, where I felt like complete garbage!
Now it's been about two weeks and I'm getting there. Stairs, sitting...anything that requires any bend to my knee hurts. I still don't have full ROM, but I'm getting there
In case your wondering, Run Ranger Run 2015 is right around the corner and I CANNOT wait.
Lol! Head back laughing out loud. This is exactly how I feel...hopefully I will get the green light on Friday's post op appointment!
If you don't laugh, your a communist.

I love your sense of humor! You have been through so much and have handled this setback, like a superstar!
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing and I'm inspired by you daily. As I always say: there is a comeback for every setback! Your comeback, is just around the corner! Love you, runner girl!!
